  • You can do both of the above with a handheld wireless computer or cell phone

...and a lot more.  But you'd have to explore the site to find out!

Essentially, fboweb.com is an aviation solution website.  It links pilots, FBOs, and Aviation enthusiasts alike - together, online, and services both sides of the coin.

fboweb.com is a web site for pilots of all kinds.  It allows them to obtain detailed information on airports, their runways, frequencies and services available, navaids, airways, intersections, and other parts of the US National Airspace System.  In addition to providing this information, it also allows users to create and store frequently used flight plans, and allows you to file them with the FAA automatically.

What's even more useful is that the services available on fboweb.com are also available through wireless handheld devices, including the iPhone, Palm and Windows Mobile devices.  This means that users of these devices can be "on the field" and wirelessly access airport information, get the latest METARs and TAFs, or file a flight plan.  It helps make flying easier.

It should be noted, however, that the information available on fboweb.com should not be used for navigation.  Yes, it's a disclaimer;  the information on fboweb.com may not be correct - only authorized FAA documents/publications should be your primary source of information.

FBOs and other on- or near-field services can benefit from fboweb.com in a number of ways.  First and foremost, by listing their FBO with the site, they can advertise their services and attract valuable traffic to their facilities.

In addition, FBOs (as well as pilots) can track flights that are on an IFR flight plan;  the Airport Summary feature allows FBOs to see which flights are due inbound, when they will arrive, what type of aircraft they are, and where it is currently located at any given moment - a great help for FBO line crews and staff.

We're always working to improve and enhance the service, and there are more, great features in the works.  Stay tuned to our home page for additional announcements!

The home page of fboweb.com can be considerably customized, providing quick access to weather, AIRMETS and SIGMETS, as well as METARS and TAFs for your frequented airports.
The quick-track feature is the most frequently used;  it allows users to quickly select a flight and track it - either by tail number, or searching based on criteria like destination, departure, airframe type, and other items.  The display shows current location, ETAs, equipment details, and much more.
The airport summary feature allows users to get a textual display of all flights going in and out of a particular field, including planned flights that haven't yet departed.  Users can filter by type of flight (Commercial, Cargo, General Aviation or Air Taxi) as well as other features.
For users who want more "interactive" flight tracking, the Airspace Navigator provides users with an easy-to-use, mouse-driven, point-and-click type interface to track flights.  Flight tracks are updated every 15 seconds, and as with all of fboweb.com's flight tracking products, our high-resultion weather overlays are available (courtesy Meteorlogix.com).
The FleetWatch feature allows you to enter in a listing of your most frequently tracked aircraft (there are no virtual limits to the number of aircraft in a list), and you can display them all on one screen to keep tabs on the entire fleet.
Email alerts are an extemely useful part of fboweb.com - you can receive an email to your computer, cell phone or pager, which lets you know whenever a flight has filed a flight plan, departed, or arrived.  Extremely useful for keeping track of key flights or specific aircraft.  You can set up as many alerts as you like.  You can also receive airport-based alerts, which are triggered based on arrivals to a particular airport.
The Flight History feature allows you to research the data on fboweb.com, going back as far as November 13th, 2001.  Find any flight, IFR or VFR, and pull up its course track, as well as other related information.
One of the many free services on fboweb.com, you can pull up detailed information on any airport within the United States and Around the World, including aerial photos, runway diagrams, IFR approach plates, local weather, city maps, FBO listings, communications frequencies, and other details.
Also available for free, flight plans!  You can keep a list of frequently used flight plans online, and file them online at will, with little or no changes at file time.  You can also use this feature wirelessly, from a Palm or Pocket PC, so that filing "from the field" is easy!
One of the newest features on fboweb.com, the Pilots Logbook - maintain your logbook online and have access to it anywhere you have Internet access.  Also available wirelessly, from handheld devices... so now you can update your logbook right from the field.  The Quick-Entry enables you to enter just basic information (tail number, flight duration) and the system will automatically determine which type of category to put your flight into;  Single Engine, Multi-Engine, Land or Sea, etc.  Produces summary listings, and eventually will provide currency checks!
